roleplay code of conduct
01
Tag your threads. This prevents unwanted characters from joining your thread, and save the awkwardness of shooing someone off if they accidentally join. If you want random people to join you, slap an “OPEN” or an “ASK” tag at the end of your title. If you only want particular people to join, put a “CLOSED” tag or write their name instead. You can use “SOLO” if you want to just write by yourself. Additionally, tags can be used to signify if a thread is for an event or prompt, or if it’s combat-enabled [CE] or death-enabled [DE]. Generally speaking, these things should be decided before a thread begins– if it changes later, make sure to communicate such with your thread partners.02
Collaboration (not control) is key! You play your own characters. Don’t try to control characters that aren’t yours (powerplaying/godmodding) and don’t give your character an omnipotent understanding of their situation far beyond what’s actually possible (metagaming). The unpredictably, the potential for human error, and watching your character rise above their failures, makes it far more interesting– additionally, it makes you a way better RP partner than someone who always wins all the time.03
You can play as many characters as you can maintain! Everyone begins with three free character slots. Once you fill those three, you must post 20 times per account (60 times total) in order to earn Slot #4. The 2nd aspect of the password is the 4-digit number at the end of your Discord Name. This is the process for each additional character slot! So if you want Character #5, you must get Characters #1-#3 to 40 posts apiece, and Character #4 to 20 posts. For Character #6, Characters #1-3 need to get to 60 posts apiece, Character #4 to 40 posts, and Character #5 to 20 posts. Posts should be in-character and not just tripe.mizo.
