[b]PERSONALITY:[/b] Kirin is sort of like an onion, he has layers...
On the surface is the Kirin he shows to the world, confident and charismatic. This is the face Kirin will show you to give you a false sense of security, make you think he's just a playful fun-loving guy who chases one thrill after another. Ever willing to crack a joke or insult you to your face, no one is above ridicule.
Under that is the Kirin that was created to shut the world out. Shameless and paranoid, this is the professional face Kirin reserves for getting things done. Pragmatic and ever cautious, he will stoop to any personal low if it means getting what he desires and living to see another day.
Under all the other layers is something scared and primal, born of the nightmarish ordeal he underwent in the Oddocalypse. This is the core identity of his abilities, his subconscious turned AI.

KIRIN’s life was chaos long before the Crash. Born behind a convenience store in Winter Park Florida, he was rescued from a drug den at the age of two and put into the foster care system, then eventually the juvenile correctional system. Like so many he fell through the cracks of society and clawed out a living for himself by any means necessary. His childhood spent exposed to some of the worst of society, he found his passion for machinery learning how to boost cars and his knack for computers through cyberfraud. His became a migratory existence, never able to put down roots in fear of the past catching up to him. It was after a particularly nasty heist gone wrong that his old identity would be discarded, and the newly named KIRIN found himself fleeing across the country to start fresh where no one knew his face or reputation. This was a fresh start, a chance to live an honest life… or the closest thing he could manage. That was how Kirin found himself in the Bay Area when the Oddocalypse began.  

During the months that followed, Kirin began to notice peculiar things happening around him. First his watch alarm woke him in time to catch his shift, even though he had forgotten to set it. Then there was that time it took him a week to notice he forgot to charge his phone, yet the power stayed on. Time and time again a ‘glitch’ in technology would save his bacon in some way. While it didn’t go unnoticed, Kirin simply chalked it up to a sign that the universe was rewarding him for staying on the straight and narrow. For those few peaceful months, Kirin was starting to think things were finally turning around for him.  

The night of the crash, Kirin was crammed in an overstuffed bus, fresh off a long day of undocumented labor. Exhausted from his physically taxing day, Kirin was on the verge of nodding off when the bus was flung off the road, tumbling down into the woodland below. When Kirin awoke, the Crash was well underway, and over the three days that followed, Kirin clung to survival by a thread. By the time the Void receded, Kirin was the last remaining survivor. Kirin didn’t make it through the entire ordeal unscathed though, as while he had avoided major injuries, his immune system was another matter.

Unbeknownst to Kirin, a technorganic parasitic organism had taken root in his body, slowly breaking down and replacing him on the cellular level, just gradually enough to keep him barely on the edge of recovery as it converted him bit by bit to be the perfect host body. Yet as the organism grew ever closer to capturing his mind, the same tantalizing force that had drawn it to Kirin, began to push back, overcoming the will of the organism as a power grew stronger in Kirin, The technological virus hadn’t been the only change that occurred during the crash. Kirin had fought his way through life, overcoming each hurdle through tenacity and a stubborn refusal to quit when the odds were against him. Kirin was a survivor. Those days spent exposed to the horrors of the Void had earned him the favor of some benevolent eldritch voyeur. And so once again technology decided to save his bacon. What started as a weak subconscious influence on the technology around him back when the Oddocalypse began turned out to be the first manifestation of something grander awakening in Kirin. If a technology could have a diety, then Kirin had been blessed and knighted by such a Deus ex Machina.  And just as quickly as his mysterious illness came on, his body seemed to recover. Kirin, despite his ignorance of the biological miracle that transpired within him, was soon to notice the changes undergone by both him, and the world around him.

[b]DESCRIPTIONS:[/b] Kirin is capable of controlling and manipulating technology that he has frequent direct exposure to, such as his phone, watch, or his technorganic body. By controlling the augmented cells he is comprised of, he is capable of adapting himself for survival by mimicking different kinds of technology. When in direct control of machinery, such as holding a power-tool in hand, or being behind the wheel of a vehicle, Kirin is able to draw out greater efficiency and potential as his power manifests functions through it as a conduit.

[b]FUNCTIONS:[/b][ol type="decimal"][li][b]PRIMARY:[/b] Persistance. Kirin is held together by an indomitable will to live, allowing him to keep fighting at full power on an empty tank for an additional post. [/li][li][b]SECONDARY:[/b] Damage. Be it chainsaws, drills or blowtorches, Kirin is capable of destroying wood within two turns. [/li][li][b]TERTIARY:[/b] Mobility. From Grappling hooks to Motorized rollerblades and even a boat-engine, Kirin is equipped for any terrain. [/li][/ol]
[b]LIMITATIONS:[/b] Kirin’s ability to replicate technology is predicated on his understanding of how it mechanically functions. Because of this he cannot replicate technology foreign to his understanding, such as devices of advanced complexity or classified schematics. For now he's limited to commercially available devices. An unfortunate byproduct of his unique physiology is an increase in flammability in all transformed bodily fluids and secretions. In layman terms this means the very sweat and blood generated when his body is adapting is flammable when exposed to air, making fire-themed foes an annoying challenging. A rather annoying setback to Kirin’s powers are their lack of subtlety, this paired with his bombastic personality means he’ll never succeed at stealth. Lastly Kirin’s parasite was never purged, merely rendered dormant, and as such slumbers as a second stomach Kirin needs to sate by regularly absorbing fuel sources like gamer energy drinks or car batteries.
